NaNoWriMo

NaNoVember - Day 1

Random assortment of thoughts after one day of NaNo:

Don’t let his cheery talk fool you, Andrew twisted my arm and harangued me into taking on NaNoWriMo, despite the fact that my November is already insane scheduling-wise.

Lucky for him I am a glutton for punishment and a little bit of a show off. Whether showing off success, or the dramatic nature of my failure. Don’t worry, I won’t let that stop me from griping loudly and frequently about it though.

Today I hit 1750 words and closed my laptop emphatically... ...only to open it moments later to get back to writing BetaBooks related content.

I, smug in my first day word count, watched the new Star Trek film this evening. I would say it was in honor of Andrew’s scifi writing efforts but that would be dishonest. He is busy working on finishing Jack + Blue (from all indications, an awesome AI space heist hijinks extravaganza).

I am writing a ghost story based here in Raleigh. It'll be chilling. It might be funny.

Question for NaNo folks -- do people get into going to the live writing events? I am thinking of going to one tomorrow but writing in a crowd seems so odd. New experience I guess.

That's it for today, stay tuned for an update from Andrew tomorrow night.
